We do so much more than sell travel insurance. Our goal has always been to create a community. To build products and services that let other World Nomads explore their boundaries safely and armed with the tools they need every time they hit the road. We want them packed for adventure and comforted in the knowledge that should the shit hit the fan, we’ll always be there for them.

Everything we create, we create for us as well. If we wouldn’t use it, we don’t build it.

So as we’ve grown, so has our need to add to our team. We need a very talented individual to join our marketing team and here are some of the things you’ll be doing if you join as our new Marketing and Partnerships Specialist.

PLEASE NOTE: We will not be considering relocation for this role, you need to be based in San Francisco / Berkeley area.

Primary Job Role:

Contributing to the overall sales growth and brand awareness objectives this role has two overarching areas of responsibility:
•    Online and search marketing programs targeting the North American traveler (B2C)
•    Provide marketing support for our Americas-based affiliate sales channel (B2B).

This position is responsible for the following: (other duties may be assigned at the manager’s discretion).

1. Online Marketing - Drive Consumer direct sales and brand awareness

Search Marketing

•    Develop SEM campaigns to support insurance sales and program / campaign promotion
•    Develop content marketing campaigns to extend SEO footprints and support brand development initiatives
•    Track against developed KPI’s and optimise on an ongoing basis

Email Marketing
•    Develop email marketing strategy to both acquire new customers as well as develop consumer insight and report key learning’s back into head office marketing team
•    Manage all program and campaign email marketing for US focussed initiatives

Social Marketing
•    Work with the head office marketing and content teams to develop US-centric social media playbook / strategy
•    Manage all campaigns aimed at developing and leveraging US social community

PR and Influencer Management
•    Support the development of PR relationships with key industry media, bloggers and travel partners
•    Work with head office to develop Ambassador program to support and reward high value customers

Marketing Research
•    Desk side industry (travel and insurance) research and customer insights via surveys, purchase path and web analytics
•    Keep up to date on the latest trends and best practice principles across all forms of consumer marketing

2. Partnerships

Partner Support
•   Support Affiliate account manager, regional manager and global sales director in lead generation and channel marketing initiatives
•   Includes following up on leads, answering affiliate customer service enquiries, managing affiliate integration and US partner email campaigns
•   Work with internal stakeholders to maintain and drive enhancements on World Nomads B2B affiliate portal

Partnership Development
•   Work with Partnerships manager to identify existing high potential and underperforming’ affiliate partners with recommendations to improve content integration and yields

Partnership Co-promotion
•   Liaise with Program Manager to identify key affiliates to partner with for global and regional marketing campaigns
•   Develop relationships with other travel, DMO, tourism boards, and like-minded consumer brands to support programs and campaigns

Work experience and skills requirements
•   Bachelors degree required, ideally in business, marketing or related field to the travel or insurance industries
•   Minimum of 3 years work experience in an SEO/SEM, campaign optimization as well as web analytics or other online marketing role in a sales environment, preferably but not necessarily within travel / insurance
•   Experience developing content marketing and lead nurturing programs, using content management systems (Sharepoint, Wordpress), email service providers (MailChimp, Silverpop) and lead nurturing programs (e.g. Marketo, Hubspot).
•   Strong Google search, analytical and problem solving skills; must be very comfortable with data analysis and able to use data to make decisions. Experience using Google Analytics (or similar technologies) to measure and optimize marketing campaigns.
•   Knowledge of B2B sales and marketing
•   Fluency in Spanish or other language a plus

•  Excellent communication skills - both oral and written with proven ability to conceptualize and write content (e.g. infographics, white papers, blog posts, ) for both consumer and business audiences. Writing samples required
•  Superior project management skills, managing multiple projects simultaneously and providing clear communication of timelines and expectations to internal clients and team members
•  Multidiscipline - Comfort with both technical, consumer, travel and insurance industry discussions.
•  We are looking for someone who is happy to roll up their sleeves and dive into the action; someone with high energy, a positive outlook
