My Photo scholarship 2010 entry

My namew is Cristian Bonilla. I was born in Mexico City and i moved to Cancun 9 years ago. I've done any kind of jobs until i found my pasion: scuba diving. In the actual days i work as a dive master and making videos of our divers. I got hooked up with photo when i was about 10 years old,i saw a picture of a bonzo monk burning himself like a protest against the vietnamese government because they couldn't worship freely. I thought: "i wanna be in the right moment and place to take a picture like this one". I've been a big fan of photo since then, but i've never been able to aford bying a good photo equipment, which makes me just a fan of taking pictures. I traveled to South East Asia a few months ago. It took me almost 2 years to save money to go there and it was completly worth it. In Mexico we say: "Una imagen dice mas que mil palabras" (An image says more than 1000 words) that is exactly the magic of taking pictures: space, time and pacience capturing a moment,an emotion. The secret is to do whatever you do because you love it. I love and enjoy my job so bad,i feel lucky for that and i'd like to combine 2 of the things i enjoy the most. I'd take advantage of this oportunityto learn and become in a great photographer to expres myself and show the world in my eyes. After my trip to Asia,i got totally convinced that i want to travel all over the world for ever and i think there is no better combination than photo and diving to make it hapen.
I'm becoming a scuba instructor soon by the way. Wish me luck.
I hope you enjoy my selection and choose meeee!!
greeting from the mexican caribbean sea.
