A 'place' I have visited

The necessity of a competitive edge is becoming increasingly apparant in our society. The outlook is challenging, to say the least, for the youth of the 21st Century. As a result 'uniqueness' is not the only requirement to reach our goals. It takes an inherent aspiration, a desire to hold true to what we are, against all odds. You only get one shot!

At 19 I had an unavoidable realisation that my dream might become compromised by the pressures of society. When people ask me where I can see myself in 5 years I always answer, (rather ironically actually!) "half way around the globe with a camera in my hand"; regardless of my financial situation. Photography is not a career for me but simply a way of life. Bringing the world a little closer to us all is an essential aspect of our evolution; understanding the natural world, discovering culture and chasing the 'unknown'.

For now, I am taking a year to explore the Photography and Journalism industry before beginning a degree in September. Wildlife, travel and people are my favourite subjects. Despite how far away your dreams feel, you never know what is around the corner. This is why I grasp every opportunity firmly with both hands.
