I grew up in Sri Lanka, a country of amazing scenery, archeological sites and temples – a veritable wonderland for a child interested in photography.<br/>As I travel further afield, I am increasingly aware that we share a global heritage of extraordinary natural beauty, diverse cultures and stunning historical sites. Industry, environmental change, illegal trade and ignorance are fast destroying this heritage. I try to take photographs that express my own excitement at what I am seeing so that this will imbue the viewer with a sense of wonder and responsibility to preserve it for future generations. Photography is exciting as it allows me to communicate across boundaries of language, location and time.<br/>I hope to make photography my career – it would take a leap of faith and sacrifice, but this I am willing to do. I’ve never had a mentor or any formal training in photography. Everything I know, I’ve taught myself. Working with Jason would be invaluable for my development.
