Doesn't time fly when your having fun!

Seems strange to think we have been away nearly 4 months! Time flies! Only 3 weeks left to go! Can't complain though, we have had the time of our lives! So many memories and thousands of pics if we can't remember! Bonus is these last 3 weeks are going to be cool...Argentina, Iguazu Falls and then Brazil! Will have to swot up on my Spanish!

White water rafting tommorrow and still a decision to be made as to whether we brave the Nevis Bungy (biggest in the world)! Any thoughts????

From OZ to New Zealand...country no. 7!

Can't beleive that our four weeks in Australia have now come to an end. Had the most amazing action packed month and have fallen in love with this country! Had the best time with our fantastic pals in and around Brisbane! Did Fraser Island, Byron Bay, Rainbow beach, Sunshine Coast, Steve Irwin's Zoo, Mooloolaba to mention but a few. Thanks for making our stay perfect, even if we spent a few long and sleepless nights on the sofa and suffered some serious hangovers! Will get some photos on soon!

We are sad to go, but glad to be flying to NZ and not home just yet!

Just arrived in Christchurch, strangely this place looks a bit like England! The weathers a bit colder too. Luckily I bought a pair off 'ye old faithful' UGGS AUSTRALIA in the airport! (on the credit card ofcourse)

Pick up the camper tommorrow and then we'll be on our way! Got lots of things planned...maybe another skydive, bungy jump, white water rafting, hiking, sailing, relaxing etc!

Bye for now! xxxx

In magnetic island now, soaking up the sun and lying on the beach. On the road again later, down to Airlie beach, WhitSundays. Will add photos soon.

Tammy and Steve are officially PADI Certified Scuba Divers

We have spent the last 4 agonising and very tiring days learing how to dive in the deep sea. This may sound like a doddle, but beleive us it is not! Spent 2 days training and studying and doing exams in the classroom and pool then hit the Great Barrier Reef. Honestly, it was so scary getting into the ocean, knowing what is in there! Also we had to do so many tests/practices and had an instructor called Fabion who was extremely hard on us. "Two times bad and you fail" he would continue to tell us regularly. The effort that goes into learning everything is sooooo much more than we had expected! Here's a few things... Learning how to breath in the correct amount of oxygen so you don't run out and die! How to suface at a certain time and rate without getting Nitrogen Bubbles in your brain. How to keep yourself under and how to ascend with 4 weights strapped to you! How to take off your life jacket and air and STILL swim! Stuff like, "neutral buoyancy", taking off and cleaning your mask under water, taking out your regulator (air flow) from your mouth and finding it while 18 metres down. All this as well as watching out for the marine life that may give you a nasty sting, bite or kill you! Hmmmmmmmmmmm!

Anyway, the first few dives were very scary, we saw a white tail shark on our first dive, 1.2 metres long, which we have been told is a very rare thing to see 1st time! On our fourth dive we saw 2 sea turtles (which were great). They were muching away on seaweed, which supposedly gets them drunk! ha!

It's Saturday night now and we are "well chuffed". Off out to celebrate! Now wherever we go we can go scuba diving and do what the hell we want! It was absolutely magical and on our last dive (after we had passed) we were so happy. I watched nemo for ages, saw a puffer fish, a turtle, and loads of amazing creatures that I havn't got a clue of their names!

We can't wait for the next dive!

Have a look at our photo underwater!

xxxx

The wonderful country of Oz!

First Impressions...WE LOVE THIS PLACE!

The people, the weather, the scenery, the relaxed atmosphere and the food have made for FANTASTIC first impressions!

We landed 2 days ago and got straight down to business and began a 4 day PADI dive course. We learn how to scuba dive, go down to 40 metres and basically how to be safe and have an amazing time seeing what goes on down there. The Great Barrier Reef seems like the perfect place to start this, allow sharks, deadly jelly fish, puffer fish and so on may alter our view once we get in the water! It's actually really safe!!!!!!!!!!!!!! (So we've been told.) Had 2 days in the classroom studying and in a pool learing how to breath with a BCG etc. We both passed our exam and swim test. Tomorrow is time for the real thing. 7:00am pick and we are off to the Reef. Can't wait! Living on a boat for 2 days, 2 hours out to sea. Have a look at our boat...

http://www.diversden.com.au/oq.htm

Steve's having to limit his Pure Blonde beer intake though, which is causing strange behaviour! Ate our first steak last night, delicious! Thank god we have left the rice and noodles behind!

Another 2 days of diving then we can say we are "qualified", although we may not feel so confident in these waters! All I can say is it beats the North Sea any day! (No nappies or floating durex)

Life is good and getting better by the day!

Wish you were here!

xxx

The place where dreams are made!

Sitting in Singapore airport now waiting to board our flight to Cairns. Going to be a long and tiresom journey (11hours with a stop in Darwin) but the adrenaline and excitment has kicked in. Our trip, now 8 weeks through, is getting better by the day!

Really looking forward to an action packed month in Oz! Got lots planned. Should spend a few days in Cairns to acclimatise and then were off North to Port Douglas to do our PADI dive certificate so that we can scubadive anywhere in the world from then on!!!!!

Next stop is picking up our very own camper van in Cairns and heading South down East Coast. Got loads of places to visit on the way down. I'm sure it is going to be a very fun filled, memorable few weeks. We plan to visit, Fraser Island, Byron Bay, Magnetic Island, Cape Tribulation, Whitsunday Islands and loads more...WOW! (I'm grinning to myself just thinking about it!) Google these places if you wana see whats on offer!

Well, that's the plans for the next 2 weeks. Brisbane after that to see aour lovely friends!

Feel free to drop us a line/text/comment/email at any time! Or maybe jump on a plane... (YOU ONLY LIVE ONCE!)

XXXXX

Sabadee!

Things are coming to an end in Asia. Can't believe it's been 7 weeks! We've seen some amazing things, embraced a range of cultures and made the most of every single minute! Will be sad to leave Asia but happy to never have to eat rice and noodles again! Will be good to eat cheese, drink red wine and have confidence that the meat we are served is what we ordered and not rat or dog! Ha! Steve believes he had a 'rat burger' yesterday.

The country of Laos is the most undeveloped and beautiful we have been to! So far away from civilisation and the western world! Time to move on and see the sea, sand and kangaroos of the East Coast of Oz!

Laa gawn from the two of us!

xxxxxxx
