Photos: My Scholarship entry - Salt Bed

My name is Yasir Arafat and I’m from Bangladesh. ??Currently I’m so new to the photography world I’m still trying to find my niche so to speak. I seem to be drawn to lifestyle and portrait, but anything interesting that crosses my path I’ll take a shot of and see how it looks.
I love photography because through it I can inevitably start to see how much beauty is all around me, every day is filled with it—in the most ordinary or unexpected places. Photography, through it’s ability to help me to see details and notice the beauty around me, helps me to truly live in the present. It helps me to learn more about myself and communicate across language and culture, share my perspective to other and finally travel in time.
Other than photography I love to travel, watch movies and play table tennis. I’ve done my B.Sc. (Bachelor of Science) in Textile Technology and MBA (International Business) from Dhaka University.
Amazon is a place where any traveler dreamed to travel and get access inside the jungle. I think if I can travel with a master photographer Jason Edwards, not only it helps me to get access also can learn a lot from him about the place and as well as photography. And my series is about the peoples life style live on salty land, Koxbazar,Bangladesh.

A 'place' I have visited

My name is Yasir Arafat and I’m from Bangladesh. Actually i’ve recently started seriously considering photography as a hobby. Currently I’m so new to the photography world I’m still trying to find my niche so to speak. I seem to be drawn to lifestyle and portrait, but anything interesting that crosses my path I’ll take a shot of and see how it looks. I love photography because through it I can inevitably start to see how much beauty is all around me. Other than photography I love to travel, watch movies and play table tennis. I’m 27 years old and I’m getting by working in a in a C&F (Clearing and Forwarding) firm in Bangladesh.
Green land is a complete new experience for me and I always love to go there to explore the beauty a I have been never in such place before. But without the scholarship it is very difficult for me to finance this travel. Also as I’m very armature to photography, I can learn from Jason Edwards about photographing the people, wildlife and landscapes of Greenland at various times of the day and night. This would be a great opportunity for me. So I would like to get this Travel Photography Scholarship 2013 – Greenland.
