I have always preferred to study the world from a safe distance. This has afforded me an awareness of subtleties in my environment. Yet, I failed to be truly awake in the present moment. This changed when I picked up a camera. Once I started photographing, just for the sheer joy of it, I felt complete as never before. Thanks to my camera, I have been able to join the world and study it so closely it hurts. Impressions I could never quite put into words were suddenly captured in an instant and I could share them with others. I was able to transmit things I never could before, as an introvert, to others. I have never studied photography, not for a lack in desire, but because of money difficulties. I was able to save up for my first DSRL a few months ago and in a short time I have been able to witness protests and celebrations, beauty and tragedy. I have testified with my photos.
