As an artist, it is my goal to be a Renaissance man and to explore the world. I was very taken by one of Jason Edwards' final musings on the website: "Today the world is awash with imagery, but there are fewer Photographers." I often note the same dichotomy in the theatre: There are so many productions happening around the world, but the number of true artists seem to have become fewer. A true sense of artistry has been diminished by the digital age, with unlimited capabilities at our fingertips and a disenchantment of what it means to serve your craft. It is up to the visionaries--the people who live for their craft, and who share it with others in order to create inspiration--it is up to them to keep using their artistry for the betterment of humanity. This is precisely why I want to embark on this journey. I want to see the world and capture it's most dramatic moments: the beautiful, the grotesque, the devastating, the blissful, the surreal.
