Photos: My Scholarship entry - What are men to rocks and mountains?

I am a traveller by birth. By nature. By essence. My grandparents and great-grandparents were travellers, immigrants of times of war. My parents are travellers, currently residing in Africa while I go to college in the US. If confusion around nationalism and personal geography is travelling, then I am a traveller. For me it is in the encounter with new cultures and far away places that I discover who I am, who I can be or become somehow. Most importantly, it is in that encounter, the most basic and yet complex part of travelling, that I see meaning in things. In life, in destiny, in humanity.

I moved countries for the first time when I was 6. I remember being in pure shock for a while, for the idea of the existence of other languages and people who spoke them came as a surprised. Never has a bubble been destroyed with such precision around me as then. It didn't take me long to notice that my life must revolve around that constant destruction. I must travel as much as I can, see as much, learn as much. I am studying cinema at the moment, another great passion. One that for its artistry and industry it's matched with travelling, due to which I must continue, seeking any journey.
