Photos: My Scholarship entry - A 'place' I have visited

I am a photographer who has been based in Shanghai, China for the last 2 years. After deciding to drop out of business school and pursue my passion for travelling and photography, I packed my bags and headed out around Asia in search for undiscovered places. I try to stay away from the touristy areas as much as possible and blend in with the locals (which doesn't always work). Working in Shanghai is exhausting, and every chance I get I visit new places as far away from the big cities as possible. This usually results in endless flights and bus rides, but also in great experiences in terms of discovering the unknown and self-reflection. I found that photography is the ideal medium to convey that sense of "being out" there to others that wonder why I'm travelling to the ends of the earth.
