Roman history 101

walked through the busy streets of Rome over to the Coliseum and old Rome. if you saw 1000 pictures of the Coliseum and then went to see it in person you still would be shocked. it is breathtaking to see up close. we took a tour through it and went inside the arena and the building structure is incredible. all of the surfaces are covered in white marble with limestone or bricks inside. then went through the old Rome. if you could amgine a single rome that is 40 acre big with a 80 foot high selling and in the room there was an island with a mote and a bridge that leads to a temple all inside the room. the hole building clovers a total land mass of 80 acres!

Dec 1/ Fairly to Rome

when we were on our way to the Fairy to cross the Med Sea to go to Rome i was expecting the fairy to be like the ones that we go on to go to Vancouver island. i was so surprised this one was more like a curse ship. it was so nice and we got to cabins to sleep in because it was a 18 hour boat ride. the ship had a several huge lounges, a spa, work out facilities, pools, hot tubs, and evan a casino. it was incredible. it was great because it was off season because its winter here to so there were only about 150 people and mainly were all trucker so they just stayed in the casino. the boat is ment to hold 3200 passengers so there were twice as many crew members as guests so we always had a personal butler.

nov 30/ Barcelona, Spain

arrived in Barcelona Spain last night and stated in a nice hotel that was over 400 years old and we were right on the street Romblas which is the nicest and most alive street in Barcelona. the streets were full with people and there were actors dressed up as statues and held a still position for quite a long time they were very good at it. then I had some of the best spaghetti I have ever had. i was way better than pasta pantry. after that i went straight to sleep because I was exhausted from not sleeping for almost 32 hours straight. our hole family didn't wake up till 1 in the afternoon because of the time change we were so jet legged. then we took this tour bus that took us around the whole city. the city is full of unbre

nov 29/ That makes 2 Continents

we flew to Colombia in the morning and had a 6 hour lay over in the air port. we were going to take a 4 hour tour around the city but instead we stayed in the airport because it is allot safer that way. then we boarded the air plane at 8 pm but had 100 mile an hour tale wind so we had to wait for an hour on the tar mac. my dad and I sat together and there was this man in front of us that was being a complete ass. he had to seats to himself and we were still on the tar mac and he put his seat down all the way and had my laptop out on my lap and it got crushed into me. then he moved over to the next seat and put it down also without putting the other seat up so dad and I were sitting there crushed. so my dad had a idea to play it his way. to GAS him out. my dad had really bad smelling shoes and the man in front was laying across with his head on the side of the window so my dad put his shoes right under his seat were his head was so the smell was right beside him. that wasn't enough so my dad started to fart and they were pretty bad because his guts have been upset for a wile and still he didn't move. so then it was my turn and wow this guy must have grown up in a mustered gas tank because after one of my farts there was toxic radiation area. the woman that sat across form us moved it was so bad. but it worked because after about and hour of that the man in front finally moved. we finally got into Barcelona, Spain after the 9 hour plane ride with hitlers portable gas chambers.

nov 28/ last day in Peru

so its my last day in Peru because i leave to Colombia at 7 in the morning tomorrow and have a 6 hour lay over so were going on a tour of the city and then hop back on the plain for a 10 hour plain ride. we had a good today and a great day time in Peru. i learned allot about Peru like there culture and the people and all the differtnt foods like for example today we went to the grocery store and they have completely different foods then we have back in Canada. there were all different kinds of fruits that were the weirdest things if ever seen. they looked like fruits that u would find on Pandora! so we got this one fruit that was orange on the out side and had a layer of fome and then there are seeds in the middle that that looks like an egg sack like thing with the weirdest texture but is actually tastes pretty good. there were also mini bananas that were so good and more sweet than a regular banana. but to sum Peru up the food was different, the culture and architecture is amazing, and the people are great.

nov 26/ amazing day!

We left the hotel at 6 am for a two hour drive to the port that had the boats leave to go to Poor Mans Gallapolice Islands. We took the 45 minute boat ride out to the islands and i seen the most amount of birds that i have ever seen in my hole life all of the islands were completely covered with all different species even including PENGUINS! I didn't think that i would ever see wild penguins in my life but i saw them today! i didn't know that they lived in such warm weather because it was 27 degrees today and i only think of them living in snow. the only down side was that u could smell the island from two km and thats not in a good way, it stunk like bird shit. there was also many sea loins. they were on the tops of these rocky cliffs and some them you had to wonder how they got up there because they were really high up and there not very agile on there flippers on land. after that we had lunch and drove over to the sand dunes! they were incredible. they were so much more that i expected the dunes were like the ones from the movies except allot bigger up close. they are the highest elevation dunes in the world. we drove dune buggies up them and it was insane! we almost flipped on every turn. we went airborn a couple times. our driver was so good he had no fear and knew the hills. we were ripping in the buggies they were build from a truck frame with a Dodge diesel 4 calender engine put in it. they looked like tanks. and then slid down the hills on snowboards and it was so much fun! i went laid down going head first every time. the hills were giant the run was about 500 meters and some were still bigger. you could reach a speed of 80 km/hr going down the hills! my mom wiped out not to bad but bad enough that she had to get 5 stitches. she turned side ways and rolled 3 times and the board clipped her head. she was okay but we had to stop and sow her head up. i was so funny because the hospital wanted 180 sol per stitch and Ferberiso our awesome tour guide said no thats so much money so he bought the stitching equiptment and since he was a dental surgeon he was more than qualified to stitch her up. so he stitched my moms head up in the van parked right in front of the hospital. after that we went to a beautiful lake surrounded by palm trees and giant sand dunes. it looked like something out of the movie Aladdin. and went boating on the lake and then had more fans that took pictures with me. then had an exhausting 4 hour drive back to Lima for the night.

drove 45 minutes out of the city to Hermosa beach which is the best surfing spot on the south side. it was so nice we spent the hole day there and apparently the sun is allot stronger in the southern hemisphere. i found that the hard why because i didn't use any sun screen the whole day i was beat red by the end of it. the water was cold as an alberta lake but once u got in it and your body completely numbed it was fine. it was a very nice day it was 27 and very sunny. i was surfing up a storm and it was so much fun.

nov 24/ the mall

we left the hotel at around 11 in the morning and went over to the coolest mall that i have ever been in it was underground and built right into a cliff side so that you would have a view looking over the ocean. it was completely different than any thing in Lima. it was like a Las Vegas mall instead. they had American restaurants and stores. so we ate at Tony Romas and it an incredible view overlooking the Cliffside's and ocean. then we went and saw the new harry potter movie in the movie theater and it was great.

last night i was felling much better but i still couldn't sleep so my dad gave me this pill that would help me fall asleep and it had a pretty big punch! within 5 minutes of me taking the pill i was out cold and didn't move for the rest of night. i had around 13 hours of well need sleep that night. i woke up the next morning feeling great and we just relaxed the hole day. my dad, brother and i got some really good massages and then went to the hot springs but they dont use chlorine in the pools so they were discussing. so instead we went into beautiful river and it was so cool. the rest of the day we just rested.

nov 20/ Machu Picchu

i was still a little bit sick last night also but not nearly as bad as two nights ago. the lower altitude really helps. one of the symptoms of altitude sickness is asomneia which is the reason that i cant sleep at night. so once again i had a shower and loaded up on pills then passed out. in the morning i was so excited because we went to MACHU PICCHU! we took a bus ride up the ridiculous cliff sides that have a 500 ft drop and the roads are barlly wide enough to fit one bus but then we have to pass other buses that are coming down the hills. the drivers have no fear of death! it makes u wonder how many buses fell of the cliffs because on a rainy day the slopes would be so slick and if a bus fell u would never hear about. all the pot holes are filled in by hand. when we reached the gates of Machu Picchu there was a half hour hike that we took to get the view of the hole city with the moutons in the back that is the famous picture. it was incredible because when we got there it was all cloudy but then the sky opened up and it was like a curtain was being unvalued. they had alpacas dressed up in traditional clothes on the top of the hill. the stone structures are breathtaking. to think that people actually made all of these amazing structures. in most places in the walls u cant fit a piece of paper between the seams let a long a credit card! they had a water supply system which were trenches that would run along the sides of the house and through them for drinking and cleaning. they had more of an out house system for waste. except for the INKA (king) he went to the bathroom in the main water so everyone down would drink it and the farther down the hill u went the dirtier the water would be. there were four major different temples, the sun gods, the Snakes, the Condors, and the Pumas temple. each playing a major role in the Inca people lives.

nov 19/ Train and Travel day

Last night was awful! i was so sick, i had a very high fever, chills, an awful headache and i couldn't get to sleep. i fineally got up and went to my parents room and sat in the shower for around 30 minutes and then took a bunch of pills and tried to go to sleep again i only had about 40 minutes of sleep. in the morning we had to drive about an hour and a half through old back roads and poor villages. the train was so cool, it was the first train i have ever been on. i noticed that they separated the tourists(white people) from the locals. the train ride was almost 2 hours but the views were amazing. as we dropped in altitude i started to feel better and the climate change drastically, the plants and forests became lush and it was alot more humid in the air. we arrived in Agwas Caleantas and the town was incredible, there were no cars in the town because no one drove on the roads so they were more like sidewalks. they were very steep and most parts were stares. the people are so nice here. our hotel was at the hill and there were restaurants really close to it. we just rested and walked around the town for the rest of the day. day was fun except i was half asleep and out of it for the whole day.
