My Scholarship entry - Through Local Eyes

I am from Mumbai and have grown up drinking food and drinks from the streets. But whenever I have friends from abroad visiting, they are always a bot trepidations about sampling street food. The video about sugar cane juice was to address these fears. Yes, it is true the food is not the most "hygienic" (not by western standards in any case, but the point is to embrace it not be fearful of it.

My brother and me have been making short videos since early this year, which we upload on youtube as the "Incredible Indians" series. The series are an insider attempt to decode the city of Mumbai, much like the sugar cane juice one. A few months ago I also received a modest grant (USD 1900) from the university to make what will be my first ever documentary on street book sellers in Mumbai.

We are both love sketch comedy and think the format is particularly useful in a travel show because while traveling anything can happen, creating great comedic potential. The scholarship will hone our film making skills and enable us to make a greater impact with our videos.
