My Photo scholarship 2010 entry

Series of photos taken after a visit to various hill tribe villages in Northern Thailand. I am fascinated by different cultures and their way of life. All these people are refugees tolerated by the Thai government and still living in their traditional ways in small communities, living off the land and with their handcraft which is sold to tourists.
Apart from photography my other interest lies in textiles and craft work which I love to do myself, and I find great inspiration from these visits. I think these photos portray both my interest in different cultures and love of colour and textiles.

I would like to be chosen to further my photography skills, see new places and people and in a couple of years plan to go and do voluntary work in an asian country.
