My Scholarship entry - Through Local Eyes

No experience in this field. I'm Irish. I absolutely adore Brazilians. I speak Portuguese. My ex-girlfriend was Brazilian. I have never been to Brazil. It is my dream to go there and experience the culture and the people first hand. I have a lot of Brazilian friends here in Dublin who I love and fully interact with, but this is just one demographic of Brazilian society (emigrants, foreign students, adventurers, people with the money to travel). I would love the opportunity to embrace actual locals and natives and convey the spirit, energy, charisma, charm and warmth that I envisage them to have. I realise I am not the most qualified candidate by any means but I would be 100% enthusiastic and receptive to all challenges in this project and engage wherever possible. Thank you for reading this. David Malone.
