Photos: My Scholarship entry - Life's little adventures

My name is Tammy and I have been holding a camera longer than I have been walking. When life has knocked me down, I have grabbed my camera and gone out and just enjoyed what life has to offer. My dream has always been to photograph for National Geographic and travel the world, photographing life's little adventures and sharing my unique eye for beauty with the world. I would love to be chosen for the opportunity to live my dream and learn from the best in the business! This is an opportunity of a life time, thank you for giving young budding photographers the opportunity. It is an experience I would never forget and not ever take it for granted.

A 'place' I have visited

My name is Tammy Dixon & I am 21 from Australia. Ever since I can remember photography has been my escape. I notice small beautiful moments in life that ordinary people forget to see. I capture moments for people that can't afford high end photographers & I will approach any photographer to share their tips. I am a university student & I don't have the ability to see the worlds wonders but I have utilised my own backyard, something that most people forget exist. I know I have a natural eye for photography & nothing excites me more than when I am taught how to broaden my knowledge. I love travelling and much to my mothers fright, I will do anything to get that perfect image!
I choose to leave my images untouched like many of my favourite photographers. I am from a proud Defence Force family who are very supportive and are the reason I have seen so much of Australia growing up. I have harsh critics in my life telling me I am nothing special, so with every image I take I try to prove them wrong! I am not a professional, I have found something I love doing & that can make me happy, travelling & photography. Give me the chance to prove I am good enough & I will prove you right.
