City of dreams

As a starter photographer, i am really excited about a possibility to
travel to a completely exotic location and try out the adventurous life
of a reportage or wide life photographer!
I have been taking photos
over 3 years now, and I am still in the phase of experimenting with all
possible techniques. I am in my 3rd year of my communication design
studies, but I am tending to specify myself to photography. At the
moment, I am capturing the life around me in the city, on vacations,
taking portraits of my friends and family and everyone around me. Trying
to find new inspirations and themes what inspire me.
Two years ago,
I got the chance to go on a trip with a musician band over Europe for 2
weeks and take a documentary about them. It was super exhausting but I
met a lot of people, and gained so much experience. But I know my view
changed so much since then.. Traveling is an important part of my life
in the last 10 years. Since I left Budapest, my home town, I lived in
the United States for 2 years, in Germany for 4 years, and now I am
planning to relocate and continue my studies in the Netherlands. I was
always amazed by the photos of the National Geographic Magazine, and as a
huge fan of the Magnum photographers, it has been also a big dream of
mine for over a year now, to go for a trip to India, Nepal or Tibet and
capture moments of the real life there.
The 5 pictures I added were
taken in Berlin, Germany in 2009. To me, they reflect perfectly the
atmosphere what this amazing city has to offer behind its huge party-
and art scene. A calmness which is hard to find in any other huge
metropolis over Europe..
I hope you ll like them, too!

with best regards,
Szilvia Sztankovits
