My Scholarship entry - A 'place' I have visited

This scholarship is for me, whilst trying to make sense of myself and my photography degree I now need direction, guidance and experience. I’d soak up every moment and grow as a photographer ready to enter the world of professional photography.
My passion is for photography as an art form, using it as a tool to communicate as a universal language. My photographs are not in exotic locations but everyone and everyplace has a story to tell. Capturing the essence of a country as historically diverse as Oman and engaging with new cultures would be a once in a lifetime opportunity.
When I photograph I feel a heightened sense of involvement, creating an emotional expression with the documentary process. I photograph the texture of emotions linked to places to capture the atmosphere. My work speaks for itself with minimal editing allowing the viewer to see and feel as I do.
Life is a learning experience-I’m far from the completed article. The chance to have my skills and techniques nurtured and improved and be given the opportunity to create my own artistic response to the experience would be the ultimate reward. Benefiting immensely, this could be the beginning of a path for my future.
