Unusual Trip to Nainital | Uttarakhand

A weekend trip to Nainital from Delhi is one of the most relaxing getaways when you are in Delhi. It is about rejuvenating in the lap of nature and have quick access to all the urban luxuries (shops, ATMs, restaurants, public transportation etc.) at the same time. Further, the 7-hours road trip from Delhi to Nainital is bejewelled with lush grass fields and mountainscape that move the soul. So, the route is as much a delight as the destination.

We started our journey on 21st July i.e Saturday early morning at 5 AM to reach Nanital.

1st Day :

On our way to Nainital, we had our breakfast at DHABA called "MAMA Yadav Hotel" located on the outskirts of Delhi, almost 100KM.

We reached our destination at 1pm & took rest for a while. This was the beautiful view of Naini Lake we got from our Hotel Balcony.

We freshened up and started our walk towards rope way to get rope car for Snow view point.

The peak offers amazing view of beautiful town and breathtaking snow covered mountains This was the mesmerizing view we got at TOP of Snow view point with Water droplets on trees shining like diamonds.

After enjoying two viewpoints which included Himalayan view point & Lake view point we walked on jungle road which felt like heaven surrounded by Fog & drizzle .

In Evening we spent time on mall road & visited One of the most scenic temple called Naini Temple & enjoyed Naini Lake view while having kullad tea

2nd Day:

We started out journey in morning at 9am after checking out from hotel. 1st place we visited was Ghanta Mandir Called Ghorakhal Golu Devta Temple

This is said to be the temple of Golu Devta who is the God of Justice or Wish. People write wishes in the paper and tie it along with the bell in the temple. This temple has thousands of bells tied on walls, trees and pillars.

The view of Bhimtal lake from the temple is also awesome.

after breakfast, we started our travel towards Sat Tal. Amazing and beautiful with crystal clear water. Boating is must. Getting Commercialized. It's very close to Bhimtal and Naldamyanti Tal. Reaching here is also convenient and it's worth visiting this lake.

Last place we visited was Bhimtal Lake as we wanted to try Paragliding & few Adventures activities. All water activities & paragliding are close during rainy season as it was closed from last 2 months. Boat ride in the lake is recommended in the morning /evening time or when weather is pleasant. The lake has an island which has a aquarium which can be visited by boat.

Next to the lake there is old Victoria dam and ancient Bhimtal temple. There are very few shops next to the lake and few eateries

After Bhimtal visit, we started our return journey to Delhi which took almost 8 hours & on same day i.e. Sunday @11pm we were back in Delhi.

It was great to be there and we had enjoyed everything starting from the naini zheel to horse riding andmountains views and everthing was great!

Hope, soon, I will share another trip of mine with you all.

Regards,

Trip to Bangkok, Phuket & Krabi with Phi Phi Island!

Advanced Preparation: We have booked flights & hotel almost 3 month before of our travel date. Only bad luck was Visa fees which got doubled from 2k to 4k INR/person starting from 1st Sep 2017.

Day to Day Trip Plan:

1. We have reached Phuket on 8th Sep 2017 by 10pm night & traveled towards our hotel & take rest. (Took Share mini Van from Airport to our Apratment which cost 180THB/Person)

2. Spend 2 days in Phuket i.e. 9th & 10th Sep 2017 as below,
  a. 9th Sep:- Travel for Promthep Cape for Viewpoint for full days for photography & sunset view with night life.

While traveling to Promthep, On the way we have visited one Budhhist Temple call Chalong Temple. Locals come to pray and Westerners come to learn something about Buddhism. The temple is open from seven in the morning to five in the afternoon.

Promthep Cape: best landscape views we have experience here in Promthep cape view point with lot of beaches & scenery but it was quite longer distance from our Apartment i.e apprx 35Km.

Same day during evening, we travel to Bangla night life road, almost 9km from our Apartment.

We saw lot of night clubs with dancers performing pole dances. We enjoyed sexy dance show with beer & mock tail.

NOTE: we got free bike in Phuket from our Apartment owner so we just have to fill the Petrol that’s it ( 30Thb/Ltr ). So it was quite cheaper & fun to roam in Phuket as its not much big city.

  b. 10th Sep:- In Morning we roamed in "Rang Hill" & for evening we were at Old Phuket town for weekend market.

Rang Hill: Its good hill station with lot of point to click long landscape photos, we enjoy many view point with pleasant climate. One thing to mention, “Tunk ka” Café at Rang hill suggested by our apartment owner for food. We had our lunch here with awesome view & food.

Old Phuket Town: we have gone to see weekend market here with lot of food varieties & many games to play. Here we tried one dessert shop called “The Tent- Treasure of Dessert” which serves delicious desserts. During weekend market trip, we tried many fried fishes, Chicken Rolls, Fruit juices & we enjoyed the market trip.

3. Started for Krabi from Phuket on 11th Sep at 7am, where we reached by 2pm & checked in Hotel in Ao nang Beach. ( Here again we booked share mini Van which cost us 400Thb/Person )

   a. 11th Sep:-

We roamed in Krabi in evening to see sunset at Ao Nang beach where we clicked many silhouette pictures. At night, we walked onto the local roads of Krabi to enjoy night life where we saw multiple pubs with open karaoke. Then we tried one India restaurant called “Tara” where we had spicy Indian food.

After Dinner, we headed to Ao nang beach to cut my Birthday cake with chilled beer ( Plus point of Thailand, you can have drinks anywhere on Road or Beaches)

  b. 12th Sep:- We had a pickup from Krabi hotel at 12pm for 7 Island Tour. For 7 Island tour, we had paid almost 1100Thb/Person including entry fees & Dinner.

Started Boat journey for 7 Island trip where our 1st Island was Poda Island where we tried snorkeling in middle of the sea covered from all sides in mountains.

There were few more Island we visited, called Chicken Island, Taming Island, Tup Island but the best was where we had our BBQ dinner with Golden sunset view i.e. on Phra Nang Cave Beach.

After dinner, we went to the secret Planktons spot in sea where we had once in life time experience of Bio Luminescent swimming with sea Planktons ( which glow when you move your body part in sea water, it’s like fireflies in water.)

  c. 13th Sep:- We had pickup from Krabi Hotel at 9am for Phi Phi Island Trip. For Phi Phi Island trip, we paid almost 1000Thb/Person including lunch & entry fees.

Started Speed boat journey for Phi Phi Island trip. 1st we have visited to Bamboo Island where we explore beaches with creamy soft sand & relax.

During tour, we had visited multiple Island including Phi Phi Don Island ( Famous for its limestone cliffs), Monkey Island ( With lot of monkey ready to snatch food from you).

Last Island, i.e. Khai Island where you find exotic colorful fishes & Coral reefs for snorkeling lovers, The variety & abundance of underwater marine life that we had experienced was unique & extremely attractive.

We returned to our hotel after phi phi Island tour in evening. At night , we again visited the same Indian restaurant for some spicy food.

4. On 14th Sep, Start traveled back to Phuket where we reached at 2pm. ( we booked same mini van again which cost us 400Thb/person from Krabi hotel to Phuket Apratment drop. )

During Evening, We again visited to Bangla Night life Road to try local food of Thailand after which we spent some time seating on Patong Beach with windy air. After dinner returned back to our Apartment & get some rest for next day.

5. On 15th Sep, there was storm in Phuket with lot of rain so couldn’t go anywhere in Morning, but in Afternoon we traveled to Karon view Point.

Karon Viewpoint (which used to be Kata viewpoint) is one of the most frequented viewpoints in Phuket. From here, it is possible to view Kata Noi, Kata Yai and Karon beaches.

NOTE: View point was almost 25km away from our Apartment & our bike got punctured in hilly road where there were no Garage nearby in 2km area. So we had to walk almost 1.5km to reached garage & get tube repalced. Be careful while bargaining with mechanic as they charge too high for foreigners, we were lucky enough to pay only 250THB(500INR) for new tube in tyre.

Next day we had early morning flight to Bangkok (6am local time)so we took rest at night for the day.

6. On 16th Sep, we started our journey to Bangkok. i.e. on 6am so we left for airport at 4am. Here we booked private Cab as we were having early morning flight which cost us 700Thb to reach Phuket Airport & 250THb from Bangkok Airport to Hotel.

  a. 16th Sep:-

in Afternoon, we headed towards Grand palace. In Bangkok, we took private Cab to roam in here. If there is one must-see sight that no visit to Bangkok would be complete without, it's the dazzling, spectacular Grand Palace, undoubtedly the city's most famous landmark. (For cab we paid almost 300Thb return Journey )

NOTE: For visiting Grand palace, there is dress code for both male & female. i.e no shorts for male & no shorts & sleeveless for female so make sure you fulfill the criteria while visiting the palace. Another imp thing, you have to pay 500thb (1000 INR)/Person as a entry fees to see Palace which I feel is too high for travelers.

In Evening, we had visited to JJ Green night market in Bangkok.

Best place to have Thai local food with variety of options in eating & drinking. Tried local foot massage here which is damn good.

7.17th Sep:- we just rested as we were having flight at 4pm evening as we had to leave apartment by 12pm to start travel to Suvernabhumi Airport. We used Metro here to travelled from hotel to Aiport as they have metro connectivity directly to Airport (Metro Ticket: 50Thb/Person ) & that’s our last pic in Bangkok.

After 12 Hours of long return journey with one connecting flight from Kaula Lumpur finally we reached Aamchi Mumbai on ealry monrning of 18th Sep!

We had great time in Thailand & would suggest that you plan your trip by yourself instead of going through any travels as its comparatively cheaper & you can explore more places.

NOTE: We spent approximatly 50k/person for 10 days of fantastic long vacation.

Regards,
