Schiphol Airport, Amsterdam

So I'm in Amsterdam right now, waiting for my connecting flight to Lyon. Wow, I'd forgotten how tedious long-haul flights were. The good thing was that I managed to get some sleep on the flight from KUL-AMS. But on the downside, my body is stiff and aching and I can't stop sneezing - which is thanks to the 2 idiots who sat next to me, who were doused in aftershave. I swear they emptied the contents of their aftershave bottles on themselves. Crazy.

Anyways, since I have 11 mins left on my internet time and Florian has gone to shower, I thought I'd update this, seeing as I'm not too sure when I'll get a chance to next. I am sitting opposite these huge windows and watching the sunrise on a cold morning. Which is perfect. I'm relishing the weather change, though my fingers have become little icicles. Nevermind, Florian will warm them up :P

Right, so nothing more to add, except there's a restaurant called Mediterranean Sandwich Bar, which is near the B/C gates. Anyways, good food there. I had a panini which was yummy, so I'm a happy camper for now.

Au revoir!

It's THE day!

OMG! Finally, today has arrived! Ohhhhh, I've waited soooooo long for it. Felt like it was an eternity away and now it's finally here. OMG. Ok, so for those of you who were living under a rock (or on another planet :P), today is the day I set off on my travels for Lyon. I can't wait.

I'll be departing KLIA at 11:40pm and arriving in Amsterdam at 5:45am (I think). I'll have a 4 hr layover, then will leave Amsterdam at 9:40am and arrive in Lyon (and hopefully soon after, Florian's arms :P) at 11:20am. I will be exhausted, jet-lagged and completely out of my mind with excitement! OMG :P

Anyways, I still have random bits and pieces I need to sort out before leaving, so I'd best get to it :)

Au revoir! :)

In the beginning...

I've always wanted to see the south of France, so for 2 weeks, beginning November 29th, I will be in lovely Lyon. Granted most of my reasons for going to Lyon in particular lie with a certain someone, but still. I've always been mesmerized by the rich history, culture, architecture and food of Europe. Also, considering Interpol is headquartered in Lyon, I feel it all works out rather nicely for me. Unfortunately, I've not had the chance to do much traveling there, so I am going to relish every single minute of it - falling in love with the city and off course, with Florian :)

So 3 days left till I leave humid Malaysia for the winter cold of France. Can I just say how absolutely ridiculous it is to try and find winter fashion here? *sigh* I suppose that comes with shopping in a tropical country. But still. I'm positive there is a portion of the population that travels during winter season, so logic would dictate that they get their clothes from somewhere, right? Apparently not. Well, from what I've seen anyways. Looks like they all freeze their arses off lol. If only I'd brought my winter clothes from Brisbane. Then again, if only I had my sweaters and such from Canada. *sigh*

Right, so in keeping with my usual thing of keeping a scrapbook of my travels, I figured I'd get with the times and do it online. This way, family and friends (read: STALKERS :P) will be able to keep tabs (errr, I mean contact :P) with me. Plus, it just saves me the whole trouble of developing photos to stick into my scrapbook, etc. Save the trees & all that good stuff :) I don't know how often I'll be able to post - if you guys want regular updates, I suggest bugging Florian to lend me his computer, or to take me to an internet cafe :P

Anyways, 3 days more. OMG, I am excited. Vive la France! :P
