My Photo scholarship 2011 entry

Travel photography is the doorway to opening ones mind to the appreciation of other cultures, customs, people, world. When im photographing im totally absorbed in the moment; being truely present at that time. What emotions arises? AWE,excitement, feeling of being alive.I love travel photography as its documenting a snapshot of common people's life yet there is magical untold story behind those eyes, smiles, wrinkles, faces. These photos were captured in the Loita Hills on a recent trip to Kenya. The ladies are performing a welcome dance on dung; displaying their jewellery and traditional costume. There is language barrier; but the warmth of the people is undeniable.I would love to have an opportunity to be mentored by Jason Edwards, a leader in his field. One always grows faster with somone who can inspire and teach. To combine my love of travel and photography and having mentorship...wow..that would be the absolute dream.
