Snow https://journals.worldnomads.com/sooremabine/ Mon, 6 Apr 2026 03:11:48 GMT World Nomads Adventures Photography is one of my main inspirations as a painter and illustrator - (though still a student) I have been studying in these areas for 10 years. My high painting skills help to quickly asses light, colour and composition. I prefer to paint from life. I am currently in my final year of Visual Communication in Art Academy of Latvia. I have taken many short courses in photography over the years, but I have always been denied the professional task of being a photographer; here in Latvia it is seen more as a man's job, which is something I wish to change. I love the camera, I love the shiny glass lens, the metal body. I love holding the thing. I love the game of seeing, guessing, calculating and trying again and again. I am quick, I tend to plan short shots and quick images. A decided shot is dependant of the sensitivity, colour, perception of each camera. It's a guessing game, based on trust. Animate time in my mind. Feel the speed of the click. Growing up my friends and I (one is now studying film directing) often made shoots in costumes and harsh weather - in snow, in swamp, in sea.
