I carried my Sony Mavica and 3.5 floppy disks at all times, and I tried hard to perfect the craft of capturing a moment and not just an image. I learned to use the dark room in high school and took a course in black and white photography in college. As I was considering the profession of photo-journalism, digital photography was becoming a fad. Not wanting to be seen as jumping on the bandwagon, I became hesitant about bringing my camera around with me. When photography took a backseat, I immersed myself in studying government, psychology, and international affairs. With more maturity and confidence, I now have a dream of combining my inborn passion for photography with my acquired knowledge about how humans and societies function, in order to promote appreciation and respect between people groups. Many conflicts occur, or fail to resolve, because information is intentionally, or unintentionally, manipulated.
