After a while of hard work the cemetery looks beautifully decorated, colorful and full of life while celebrating the dead. Flowers everywhere you look make this otherwise sad and somber day feel good and rewarding after a hard day of work.

From the youngest in the family to the oldest, the whole family marches up the stairs of the cemetery on November 2nd with buckets full of ‘cempazuchitl‘ flowers in order to start decorating the graves and tombs of their deceased loved ones.

The cemeteries in Mexico vary in size and shape, but they are mostly just big spaces full of tombs pilled one very close to the other, some big, some small. On this day though, the size and the shape doesn’t not matter. They all join together to make a big gorgeous piece of land.
