Photos: My Scholarship entry - What the winds dragged in. (North Beach, Western Australia)

I am a 29 year old Civil Engineer but my passion lies in things more creative.

I love learning new things. So much so that a feel sometimes I am heading towards a 'Jack of all trades, master of none' situation.
This scholarship would allow my to progress my photography to perhaps something I could begin making a living from - a living from being creative and sharing peoples stories and events and issues through artistic medium.
I love the idea that photography can do so much and evoke such powerful feelings from only one image, whether it is capturing a special moment for one person to have and remember or displaying an event for many to see i feel in the right hands photography can can be amazingly powerful tool.

I want that.

I want the ability to become a great story teller through a few seemingly simple frames.
To be able to draw attention to things that I think are important.
To show people things that I think are beautiful.

I want to learn how to do this.

I love traveling and have lived in New Zealand, Australia, Canada and PNG and the solomon Islands when I was young. I have also been fortunate enough to travel through South America, Japan, and parts of Europe.
