Photos: My Photo scholarship 2011 entry

My name is Sergio Chogre. I was born in the city of Rosario, in Argentina. At the age of 25 I moved to Toronto, Canada, where I reside since then. Currently I work for an insurance company, in the IT department, as Senior LAN administrator. I picked up photography on my first year in Toronto, almost 20 years ago. Then, I bought a used SLR Canon which I carried with me everywhere. After few years, I put this passion in the back burner; one because complications on my life and two, because the costs of film developing. Around eight years ago, with the introduction of digital photography, I picked it up again. Since then I’ve been upgrading my skills and my hardware, very slowly though. In the past two years I seemed to picking up speed and lately, it’s all I do on my free time. In the last year photography started to bleed in with my professional life, since I volunteer as corporate event photographer for the company I work for. Also in this past year, I’ve been taking an online curse provided by the Institute of Photography.
I found out about this scholarship when doing some research for one of my assignment. When I viewed Jason’s video I could not resist giving it a try. I would be the greatest experience of my life to have the opportunity to learn directly from Jason Edwards and see him in action. I’m also eager to learn about South-Africa, its people, culture and wild life. I usually few weeks before I depart for a trip I would read as much as I can about my destination. I enjoy travelling greatly and I’m easy adaptable to most situations. I’m forty eight years all, but in good physical shape. I run twice a week (between 5 to 10 Km), it relaxes me, and try to do free-weight thee times a week. I walk everywhere; I use this time to look for good shots of Toronto. I’m active person but, I also enjoy a good glass of wine and a book (or a blog) at the end of the day. I tend to get along with everyone and work great with a team. If you select me I’ll be grateful for life.
