Photos: My Scholarship entry - A varied land

I have had a small taste of overseas travel, love it and want to do more. Most recently I have been exploring my homeland via a road trip from Melbourne to Cairns & back. I am passionate about culture & the environment and try to convey the beauty I see in our natural world in my photography.

Photos: My Scholarship entry - Death of a Country?

I am an amateur photographer who has enjoyed the experience of learning the art through trial & error. As much as I have always wanted to study photography, due to family issues it has only been recently that I was able to purchase my first DSLR and I am planning to formalise my learning in the coming year.
My free time is usually spent wondering streets or taking road trips - camera in hand - seeing what there is to see and discovering new sights. I am adventurous, love to travel and passionate about nature and the environment. My top 5 role models are David Suzuki, Nelson Mandela, David Attenborough, John Butler & Tim Minchin.
Why would I like to win? Easy, I would love the entire experience of learning from a National Geographic photographer as it has been a long standing “dream job” to work for such an organisation. To experience what a real field expedition is like would be invaluable, and to have the opportunity & exposure a dream come true. I hope that through photography I can inspire people, show the world the beauty that I see in nature, the need for a new way of harmonious living and highlight both the wonders and injustices of our world.
