My Scholarship entry - A 'place' I have visited

My name is Parker Mitchell and I am currently an undergraduate student at University of Tampa studying biology and physics. I took up photography as a hobby three years ago and it has quickly turned into a passion. Friends, family, and even strangers continually give me accolades for the quality of my work. During the spring of 2012 I studied abroad in Leeds, England where my talent was truly exposed. One of my pieces was published in the UT Journal and another was the second place winner of a photo contest. I see photography playing a major role in my life as I seem to have the ability to exhibit the beauty of the environment.
I should be chosen for the scholarship as I uphold high standards as a photographer. I would love to me mentored and further my established “self-taught” knowledge of the components and functionality of Canon DSLR cameras and photography as a whole. I feel that traveling to Oman would expand my diversity as a person and expose my hidden creativity. With this opportunity I would be able to push myself and excel to the next level producing superb images. To WorldNomads, Nat Geo, and Canon, this experience is what I am about, I need to be chosen.
