Fourth Day in Sydney

Sunday, Sept 13th, Xor and I were still hanging out but little tired from the day before so we slept in to recoup. Then we got up and ready to just check out close to the hostel since Xor had to catch his train about 2pm. We found a nice little corner pub that served a Sangria (spelled right now thx to Xor Correcting it) Australian/Spainish Wine mix drink. Its made up of Red wine, Orange Juice and Lemonade (Sprite in US) and cut up fruit. I'm not a red wine drinker at all but that stuff hit the spot about noon on a Sunday. So we just chilled and watch all the people in that area. Well it was getting time to catch the train so we headed back to the centeral station/hostal. Xor was heading out of town and I was getting ready for my flight the next day. Well Xor missed his train by about a couple minutes so I got a phone call and we met up for a beer at central station. Then after making sure he made the next train, I headed off to start packing. I was off to Canberra then next morning. All hostals make you check out by 10am so you set flights up about noon. Then you can check out and head to the airport and check in and still have time incase something goes wrong. Any way that night was just a quite night with dinner at the hostal and played the trival game with couple guys from Germany as my team mates. We came in 3rd at least we werent last. hehe.

Third Day in Sydney

So third day started out easy and relaxing since I was waiting for my mate XOR to arrive in Sydney. He was coming down for the weekend to just hang out. He wasnt scheduled to arrive until 1pm or so. So just took it easy and walked around close to the Hostel. Once XOR arrived we decided to head to Bondi Beach to check it out. So walk to the bus that took us right to the beach. It was a beautiful day for the beach and the beach was packed as you can see from the pictures. We ended up walking to the end of the beach and stopped in at the pub for a refresher drink :-) Then we walked to the other end of the beach. For all you people in Iowa there was a guy selling corn on the cob on a stick at the beach. How funny? It was about 5pm and XOR and I were getting hungry so we stopped in a German pub and grabbed a .5L (liter) of beer and tried to grab a table outside but it belonged to the resturant that we wanted food from and we were going to order but they didnt like us drinking beer from the resturant next to them. So they booted us (they were very nice about it). So we decided we wanted some mexician food which ended up being a very very long walk but we finially found one. They let us go next door to the bottle store (where you buy beer and booze here) and bring in our own. After dinner it was try to find our way back to the hostel. Problem was it was so nice that all the buses were full and every time we found a cab someone would snag it just before we could. So we got smart and grab the cab on the oppisite direction. Then we just went to the pub at the hostel. They were having a special drink and a raffle for a weekend surf camp trip. Wouldnt you know it the only none vacationer there and we ended up winning the raffle. Pretty much ended the day at that pub. Time to crash for another day with XOR in Sydney.

Second Day In Sydney

Yeah I know I behind. Second day was pretty easy one. Woke up, coffee and breakfast at the hostel cafe. Typed up the first days story and ran out of Internet access while uploading pictures. So I had to find a 3G wifi cell card. Nice to be able to buy pre-paid fee cards. After breakfast it was what should I do today. I decided to go visit the Olympic Park from the 2000 Summer games. I was able to see the Olympic pool and I met the current AU medalists for diving while they were practicing. They now use the pool to train and teach kids swimming lessons there. After farting around the Olympics I caught the bus to the feiry back to the harbor in Sydney. I was able to catch the sunset on the feiry ride and got some nice pics of the bridge and opera house at night. Then another long walk back to the hotel for dinner. But on the way I got to see how Aussies spend a Friday night after a long work week (35hour work week here sweet). I walked past a plaza where about 500-700 people were having a beer after work. Once back at the hostel I had dinner and met Mark for the UK. I just stopped for dinner and he stopped in for a beer. That lasted til about 12pm and we met a couple from Australia that were visiting Sydney and drank with them that night. Good thing Xor wasnt coming in until about noon the next day. I needed some good sleep. Corrupting the youth of the world with now the international code of "Nice Shoes". I was LMAO at them the whole time I was in Sydney.
