A 'place' I have visited

Hi my name is Kimberlee and photography is my passion. It gives me the chance to be totally immersed in my subject, and quite often I lose track of time. No matter the subject, my enthusiasm is always the same, which is quite amazing considering the last couple of years have had their fair share of heartache. Heading out with my camera allows me to be in my own untouchable bubble. It helps me to see the world through different eyes, I always come away learning so much about my subject, myself, photography, and funnily enough, life. It opens my eyes and changes who I am for the better. Being mentored by Jason Edwards would be an invaluable education, which I know would help me with techniques that I’m unable to achieve and frustrate me. I really want to get more from the photos I take and rather than making it a good photo, by goal has always been to take a good photo.

My Scholarship entry - A 'place' I have visited

“Sometimes you will never know the value of a moment until it becomes a memory” - Dr Zues
For me photography is capturing moments and taking photos is purely selfish, most times I’m so engaged I feel as though I’m in my own little bubble.
For years, I’ve been taking photos with whatever I could find, anything from my camera phone to borrowing dad’s pride and joy.
?All my focus to date has been on others, so a couple of years ago whilst trying to decide where exactly my passion lied, I enrolled in a graphic design course and soon realised it wasn’t for me. I didn’t want to spend my lifetime manipulating images. I believe that the wrong things are highlighted to the point of saturation in this world already, so that makes me take a step back and view not only life but my photography in different light and angles. Sometimes I find myself so caught up in the moment my technique is lacking and I would really appreciate all the help someone like Jason could provide.
One day I would love to open my own gallery. Hopefully my dreams will be realised much sooner with this amazing Scholarship and the opportunity to pick Jason Edwards brains.
Thankyou
Kimberlee Rose
