Mate

Wow I never thought that I would find myself sipping a drink, that smelt of shit, tasted like green tea with mashed in fags. To make matters even more sureal you share a straw with other people, one of which is now in the German hospital in BS AS with swine flu.

However the effects of sharing a cup with good friends, getting mellow, talking shit is fantastic and now I am totally addicted to MATE!!!

The English in BS AS

The English must be the oddest group of people in the world.

In Racoleta cemetry I was greated by a very posh sounding woman, who said she was English. She overpronounced all her words and was very odd. She then called us scouse boys and said "bye mate!"

A sweet old lady stopped to help us when we were looking lost, she said in English, in the poshest accent possible "can I help you?" I asked her the way to Santa Fe and she had no idea what i was talking about. She was obviously English decent but toatally Argentine.

A Businessman heard us talking in English. He stopred me and asked if I was from Hollywood. I told him I was "Inglese" and he kept saying Hollywood. I said I was not from the US and he replied you should come from Holywood like Al Capone and advised us not to be english.

If I hear that we are fat, lazy, unhealthy, or alcoholic again I am going to scream. Also why does everyone think that london is violent and dangerous and that all the English are drunk?

My class the first week

Learning is fun!!! It is good to experience someone else explain ideas, write on a whitebored and have to plan lessons.

My class: Louise, Kevin, Emma, Isla, Deborah, Nicolas and my teacher Eduardo are lots of fun. At first we sat silent not understanding a word. By the end of the week I had learnt, in Spanish how to:Forbid someone from entering my bedroom, how to order someone to take of their G String and how to invite my friends to eat fillet steak in the park.

Other highlights included: hearing Sara being told "Wow 28, single, your biological clock is ticking" and being introduced to Expanish with "Do not bring anybody back to your room, there are hotels in BS AS that you can rent by the hour for that kind of thing. They are covered in mirrors."

I must be so British!!!!!!!

The drag queen singing phantom with jesus

Tonight I only had 2 vodkas, but felt totally spaced out.

I watched a drag queen sing phantom in Spanish, playing both the main parts.

I spoke to some locals "me lamo, Rob"..... "I lick myself, rob" instead of "me llamo Rob"...... my name is Rob".

Jesus asked me why England wanted Las Malivinas, whilst I was composing a reply, he asked; "Why do we (the English) want a barren rock thosands of miles from home?" He then answered his own question "O, it must be because England is a tiny island that needed more space and that Argentina was hugh and had plenty of space?"

I think he has a point, but is he a size queen?
