kalimantan2012

This is not my first trip to Indonesia or Borneo. In 1998 I visited Sabah and in 2005 Sarawak in Malaysia. Both states have great parks and facilities. I travelled in Indonesia three times. the first I visited Java, Bali and Lombok, that was in 1994. in 2001 I travelled Sulawesi from Ujung Padang to Manado in the north including the wonderful Togean islands. I flew to Sumatra and visited the north and Lake Toba area. Finally in 2011 I visited Flores overland from Maumere to Labuan Bajo, the beautiful islands of Kanawa and Seraya, Rinca and sailed by Perama boat to Lombok. I went back to kuta Lombok after 18 years and found it still pleasant and uncrowded.

July and August 2012 I'm going back to Indonesia, this time heading to Kalimantan. my plan is to fly to Pangkalanbum in central Kalimantan for a 4 days on a klotok to visit Tanjung Puting national park, then bus to Banjarmasin and to Balikpapan and Samarinda. probably I will take a boat up the river. I want to end my trip in Deravan island
