My Photography Scholarship 2011 entry https://journals.worldnomads.com/ramp888/ Thu, 16 Apr 2026 10:10:54 GMT World Nomads Adventures My name is Ronald Martinez, ever since i can remember i want to be a photographer the image of a man and his camera has always inspired me and served as an example: a man and his instrument through which he can express himself, express his life experience, everything he goes through and everything that goes through him. My dream is to travel the world, see marvelous parts of this world, know the planet, the origins in nature, in history and culture. Be able to experience complex realities. To absorbe that which I see and photgraph and have it become a part of me. I don´t want this pictures to stay in my hardrive, if this pictures can communicate the truth, create awareness, inspire, and help, then that would be the greates gratification. I think this would be the most important thing for my own personal growth, and would be the sense of purpose for what I do. I bought my first digital camera after spending several months in Canada and working hard hours in a massive baking factory. When I came back to Peru I applied myself to working as nightlife photographer, (since it´s one of the best paying Jobs in the médium) in order top buy my cameras, which progressively became better and other photographic equipment. Now i work in an international magazine named Cosas photographing social life and nightlife in Lima and around the country. This job , even though it is a great way for me to save money for equipment and to pay for my future studies in film and photgraphy in the States, also limits the ammount of trips I can allow myself in a year. It’s time for me to really do what i want through photography, for my pictures transedance.
