Hi Christy & World Nomads gang,

Hope all's well!

Thought I'd send you guys a picture of me with my

treasure trove of totally bitchin' World Nomads
gear.

The FlareSafe is exceptionally groovy (and bright
and

quite shrill). Also love the t-shirt, pens, and

luggage tags. You guys are the best!!!

Thanks again!

All Best Wishes,

Dear World Nomads,
THANK YOU for the totally bitchin’ long sleeve T-Shirt!!! It’s REALLY cool!!! Made it back safely from Thailand a few days ago. It’s freezing here. I can’t smoke in the house anymore (my roommate’s trying to quit. She told me to smoke outside). And when I poop I have to use toilet paper. You think one of you guys could drive me to the airport. Any flight will do. Hmm. Hey. Thanks again!!! You all rock!!!
All Best,
Scott
Dear World Nomads,
So like 30 years ago, some asshole tourist (I aint naming an nationalities) brought his dog with him to Koh Tao. Then, for shits and giggles, let it mate with tigers, wild boar, and no less than twelve different breeds of poisonous monkeys.
Today, there are 35 Million stray, mangy, dog-like creatures roaming the island. And thus far I haven’t found one that tasted like chicken. Perhaps I should stick to the baby sea turtles.
Scott

Dear World Nomads,
So I live in Colorado. And my first time trekking ever is in a jungle in Thailand. Pretty sick. The first day I went out with a guide and a couple from Germany. The second, I went out on my own. I hiked 4km to a water fall. It was very fun and very, very scary. And it looks and sounds just like it does in the movies. Monkeys, snakes, huge insects. The whole time. If I haven’t won a T-Shirt already, chances are I probably won’t. I’ll keep sending cards. Just take me out of the contest.
Hope all’s well.
Scott

Dear World Nomads,
Bumped into a street vender the other day. He had all the secrets of the universe written on a palm of his left hand in blue ink. He said he was a great teacher. He pointed to his name, “Willie”. But said I could call him Spiderman. He asked me if I was superman, admiring my shiny Patagonia shirt. We talked for a few minutes. I didn’t buy anything, but the he shook my hand and smiled when I left. Two days earlier, when I left after 20 seconds, he said I was a “very bad person”. Funny what a little time and attention will bring you.
Scott

Dear World Nomads,
Hi from Phuket. Staying in Phuket town. Love the buildings. At night, I venture over to Patong. What a crazy place. I know the difference between: bar, beer-bar, go-go bar, karaoke bar, night club and disco. My life is all the more meaningful with that knowledge. Think I’ll stick to cleaner places, like Las Vegas. Dear World Nomads,
Now there is something you don’t see everyday. Remove the tiger from my hand, grasshopper. Grasshopper? YO, Grasshopper?!? This is Tiger Temple. A forest monastery that’s one part Kung-Fu, one part Gladiator, one part incredible lawsuit waiting to happen. You can have special picture with Tigers’s head resting on your lap. Dear World Nomads,
Never been to a place that looks better than the postcard until now. This place is amazing. Staying in Krabi Town. Day trips to paradise. Sea Kayaking. Rock Climbing. Dear World Nomads,
Koh Samui is everything I simply cherish about Bangkok all self contained on one island. That…smell is back. So are the polite motorcycle taxi drivers and the helpful Thai hookers. Sat ring side last night at a Muay Thai (kick-boxing->I know, duh. Scott) match. The early bouts were kids. Thai boxers in training . It seemed a tad wrong to watch 8 year olds kill each other and bet on it. But Red won and I made a few Baht. A good time was had by all. Shit, no room for t-shirt info. Rats!!!
All Best,
Scott

Dear World Nomads,
The Beach. The last stop on a day long snorkelling/island tour by long-tail boat. Everyone wanted to see this place, but no one would let on. Heads would turn at every bay. Is this it?!? Is that it?!? But no one spoke a word. No one wanted to be The Tourist. I was snorkelling in the bay when the boat left. It pulled ashore. I had to swim to it. So technically I Swam to The Beach. If Danny Boyle didn’t destroy Alex Garland’s novel, things would be ever better. Going to Phuket next. I know it’s “Poo-get”, but I still giggle. Fuck it.
All best,
Scott

Dear World Nomads,
Hi from Pai. Rented an elephant for a Jungle/River trek. Then rented a bike for a visit some Hill Tribes. If I don’t bike 20 km at home, why would I think I could do it on holiday ?!? Should’ve got the elephant for two more days. But feeding, cleaning and housing her would’ve been a bitch. Dear World Nomads,
Hi from the Death Railway, so before my trip I rented “Bridge on the River Kwai”. Thought it would make a good primer. Turns out the movie was pretty much made up. There was a bridge, a war, and brits, but that’s where the similarities ended. I’m betting they didn’t even whistle that song. Then some wanker from Denmark tells me they did the same thing with star wars. Christ, what a rotten day. But a very interesting one nevertheless.
All things,
Scott

Dear World Nomads,
Hi from Ayutthaya. These ruins are amazing. Unfortunately their history is even worse than my American. The guides speak little English and the plaques are full of spelling and grammatical errors (like my postcards) . So I‘ve been making up my own history. This is where the Thais defeated the space monkeys in 1273 A.D. It was a difficult battle. Caught a jazz band in a dive bar last night. The songs covered perfectly. It’s either broken english or flawless Sinatra. Had to sing my drink order so they would understand me.
All Best.
Scott

Dear World Nomads,
Hey Howdy from Khao Lak. Used this burgh as a launch pad for a diving trip to the Similian islands. The dives were AMAZING!!! Seven in two days. Including a night dive and a wreck dive. Slept on the boat. Had a blast. Going to Ranong next for a visa run, then it’s off to Kanchanburi to see the Death Railway. More cards soon.
All Best Wishes.
Scott
