Photos: My Photo scholarship 2011 entry

As a photography enthusiast my lust for adventure started as a child born and raised in Cape Town, South Africa sharing my grandfathers National Geographic magazines. Reading intriguing stories, more so for me where the pictures so eloquently capturing a story in a blink of a shutter. I could only imagine what it could be like having the opportunity to fill those shoes on location.
I am so hungry for the opportunity to develop the skills and knowledge. To assist and be mentored by such a prestigious photographer would be an absolute gift, a once in a lifetime opportunity to capture great shots at the Kruger National Park.
I love photography because it allows me to share, anyone glimpsing at a picture has a chance to draw a conclusion and be able to imagine the depths of the story captured there.
I know that being able to interact with new people and take in the surrounding environment I can learn and also share what l have to offer. My first step pursuing this passion is to capture stories I can share with others of my Homeland.
My deepest aspiration is to be exposed to a network of people who I can learn from to make this dream of being a photographer come alive and this would defiantly be a huge foot in the door.
Now a New Zealand citizen residing in Australia the massive impression and knowledge such a stunning opportunity can bring awakens a hunger to strive and make this dream a reality.
My pictures taken on a visit to Bairnesdale Victoria, never before had I been greeted by such beautiful birds and kangaroos as a South African this interaction with wildlife as if welcoming me to the area was heart warming.
I thank you for considering my application for your scholarship.
