Day 2 - Blue Mountains to Catti National Park

Last night was FREEZING! Even with 3 people in the van! We woke up pretty early, had breakfast and got ready to set off. Engine wouldn't start. Great start to the first full day of the road trip. We were stuck in the Blue Mountains. Eventually we rung road side assistance, and just as we finally managed to get someone to come out to us, guess what..the van started.

We finally set off and stopped at Evans Lookout, Then drove onto a great campsite literally in the middle of nowhere, where we could swim in the river.

Here's hoping there aren't any more van troubles tomorrow morning!!

Day 1 of the Road Trip

Right. So our van has no power steering, no air-con and doesn't like to start in the Mornings.

The van itself is pretty cool. It has the Gorillaz painted on the side. The back is not so nice. It says: "There are only 2 things that smell like fish...and one of them is fish." Nice!!

Eventually we found where to pick up the van after getting of the bus about half an hour early and left sydney. Well tried to leave sydney. it took us hours. Then we drove to the blue mountains. They were pretty beautuful. Stayed in some campsite in Blackheath which was ok.

UPDATE

After nearly 2 months I am finally leaving sydney. Emily, Jim and I are renting a campervan and I am going to drive us all up the East coast. I am the only driver hence its going to be me doing all the driving. Can't wait. We are doing it with Wicked Campervans. We leave tomorrow morning. I am not going to lie..am a little nervous of driving a campervan but how hard can it really be?

God..can't believe i have been away nearly 2 months now!

Manly

On Saturday night, I went back to Coogee for Alex's last night in the country. Now all 3 of them have gone home because they ran out of money. Sad times. Let's hope that doesn't happen to me! Was a great night. The Coogee Bay Hotel deffinately lived up to its reputation.

Since then I have been back in Manly. Its been a bit lonely but not long to go now. The weather has been shit. Rain and the biggest thunder and lightning storms ever. Where has the summer gone?

Cockroaches

Now I think these little pests deserve a special mention. I HATE THEM!! No seriously...hate! What is the point in them...they just run around and scare the living day lights out of you when they come scuttling at 100 miles an hour towards you. Not fun! I killed 3 in half an hour the other day...3!!

You know what...they are almost as bad as old fat aussie men in skimpies. Any man who wears skimpies should be shot. Put it away..nobody wants to see it. But it gets worse. The ones who wear their boardies to the beach, then to go swimming whip out the budgie huggers.

Ok..rant over....

Emily and Jim's Visit to Manly

We spent a lovely few days enjoying the hot Manly sunshine, topping ourselves up with more goon, and sunbathing. Bit of an error for Emily on her first day...lets just say slight resemblance of a lobster. ha ha.

We went out in Manly on the Friday night and got extremely drunk. fun times!!

Major Catch up

Just for Jezzy and Kitty i am going to sum up about a months worth of sydney...

Jazz's Birthday - Goon goon and more goon...extremely drunk..don't remember much. Alex, Rob and Charlotte weren't allowed in the bar because they were too drunk. Haa.

Jim's visit (21st Dec) - Jim came and we chilled out on Bondi Beach, and started the Bird watching album. i.e Greeny look a likes. Had a few drinks in Hotel bondi then bumped into Jamie. In the evening we went back to some dude's house and drank more goon...this guy was awesome. Said that we may be able to use his van to go on a road trip up the coast.

Christmas Day - Omg...ate wayyy too much! Food baby overload. Uncle T's ham was amazing, so was the turkey all done on the Webber (aussie BBQ). Got some lovely pressies..a new pair of havvies, a dress and some much needed money. The weather was Shit, and poured with rain, so we couldn't do the traditional after lunch walk on bondi beach. Oh well...it made me feel like I was back in England.

Just like to point out at this point that yes, i am useless and still don't have a job!! so money is a little tight!

Boxing day - Watched the start of the Sydey-Hobart yatch race. Was amazing seeing all the huge yatchs..and we all know that i am a little boat obsessed. Went up to the Naval base to watch it, in the pouring rain. Bad times. Not the hot sunny weather I was expecting.

New Years Eve - EMILY ARRIVED!! Spent the day chilling with Jim in Bondi, then had to treck halfway accross sydney with my backpack..not fun! Never again do I want to see that thing again, but i'm not sure thats really an option. We stayed with a family friend of Jims, Hitler, who cooked us a nice home made meal...you really start to appreciate nice food after living off noodles! We got the train to Milsons Point on the north side of the bridge. Sat on the side of the road, with amazing views, and drank yet again more goon...classy! Made friends with some Kiwi's who gave us free cider!!

New Years Day - Space Ibiza. Went to this awesome one day festival. Was just a day of drum and bass. Couldn't hear anything by the end. Stayed in a hostel in Central that night. It was a pretty nice Hostel.

2nd Jan - Today I moved up to Manly, one of the Northern Suburbs of syndey to house sit for my cousins friend. Its a very nice house but the weather wasn't too great so I couldn't go to the famous Manly beach.

5th Jan - Emily and Jim came to stay. Good to have some company. Was getting a little lonely! The weather finally perked up again and we hit the beach! Have been drinking too much goon again! think i need to stop before i have liver failure.

First Week

My first week has been going pretty well..apart from the job hunt! Seen the famous Harbour Bridge and the Opera House.

Beached it up today with Jazz and Beth in Coggee...little lobster like, but nothing that a bit of after-sun won't heal!
