Brooklyn To Paramaribo

Brooklyn to Paramaribo (Suriname)

So this is My second draft, the first one got erased for some mystical reason and after one hour of writing.

So I start at the top…my plane is to visit my friend Alex and his wife Stephanie In the French Guiana, but the airline tickets were so High from NYC,,,so I decided to get a ticket to Suriname and just go over land from there…

My flights is are on Friday the 13th and Starting at 12pm,,I have 2 connections and a 12 hour journey…I connect at Atlanta ,then fly to Trinidad and then to Paramaribo (Suriname)

The flight were not that bad,, I had a good time talking to the counter people and people on the plane…

I get to Suriname around 12am, and actually Alex and Stephanie were waiting for me In the airport to pick me up,,,Our plans were to spend the weekend In Paramaribo and then Sunday go back by taxi to French Guiana,,, A good Plan I think!!!

As I step out of the airport terminal I can see My friend are all ready waiting for me and we were happy to see each other, And the taxi driver that they got was happy to see me too, But After I found out that he was already stoned and a little drunk so for him he just In some kind of a party…so nice…right!!!

Weather is nice and I can feel the south American weather in the air…

On the way to the airport the driver talking about Parties and weekend…

So we decided to go out for the bars and offshore the driver wants to come too, so we drive to the guest house (KIWI guest house) not far from city center,,,30 min walk or 5 min by taxi…

I change my clothing and we go to the bars ,,,In Paramaribo its all about Reggae music and Rasta mans….every one with Dread locks and acting cool….

We go to this Rasta bar and every one is smoking Hash and all kind of weeds…nice envairment and the driver tells us that this is the bad place of the city , but then we drive around after the bar and every thing was so nice, the houses were beautifull,,so I think he just wanted to feel cool that he knows the city, He don’t know what’s bad area of the city, I should have taking him to East NY,,heheheheh

We spend the week end just eating and drinking and having fun, and then on a Sunday morning we headed toward the Border,,,From Paramaribo you need to take a taxi to the Border village (Albina) and its about 2 hours by car,,and cost around $50 local Money,, so its around 16 US dollars…not too bad,,,and then In Albina you need to take a boat taxi to the other side ,,,across the border, and iys around 8 us dollars…

Then you can take a taxi to any were you want to go,,but we were prepared My friends rented a car In French Guyana (cayenne the capital),,,so we were set,,,it takes 3 hours from the border to Cayenne, so we have a nice drive in the Jungle area, for 3 hours, had a lunch stop at the local places and Hit The city around 7pm…….
