Through my lens https://journals.worldnomads.com/pari/ Fri, 1 May 2026 12:06:42 GMT World Nomads Adventures Born and raised in Kathmandu, Nepal, I had a conventional career at an environmental organization until the age of 26. In 2008, my work took me to the Everest Base Camp for a month-long research on climate change, and thus began my passion for the mountains. I quit my job in 2010 and started my own environmental initiative. In 2012, I walked from east to west of Nepal on the 1555-KM Great Himalaya Trail in 98 days to document the impacts of climate change through writings, images and interviews with locals. Not having received any formal photography training, I have relied on my own instincts so far but I see there is a huge room for improvement. Photography to me is a powerful medium of bringing out the lives of people and places so remote they remain forgotten and their issues unheard. Through my photography and writing, I seek to deliver a reflection of mountain life. I am eager to learn from Jason Edwards for more than his ability to create beautiful compositions– his work philosophy of being an impartial photographer and documenting issues accurately is inspiring.
