I have developed photographic skills in several different domains: landscape, portrait and nature photography, especially underwater. This would help me in the interesting assignment in Greenland.

I am also absolutely fascinated by the history of the exploration of the planet's poles. While Greenland is still some way from the North pole, the landscape is somewhat similar, and I would love to experience this unique place myself.

I am a neurobiologist interested in human vision, and an aspiring photographer. I think there are some really interesting synergies between these two fields! I have had the privilege to learn about the neurobiology of vision in some of the world's best institutions (Max Planck Institute, Salk Institute) and would love to get equal quality tutoring in photography. Often highly intriguing things pop out from such a crossover of science and art!
Furthermore, I am a skilled (and published) underwater photographer, and there is lots of good marine life in Oman. I would love to capture the beauty of some dive spots in Oman photographically. I believe this skill of mine could give the photographic results of the Travel Photography Scholarship a whole extra dimension.
