Documentary Scholarship 2011 entry

My name is Dina and I am from Macedonia. When I was traveling in the villages in Macedonia, I came across this interesting character who sad that he had a special power to help people by healing them. I was immediately intrigued. At first I didn’t believe him, it sounded surreal, but then I saw people from all over the country coming in this little village, asking for help. Anthill this day, I am shocked by this story and I can’t tell for sure if he is telling the truth or not, but I can tell you this, every day people keep coming in this little village asking for help, believing strongly that this man has a special power and helps them. This was my first experience whit documentary film making and I loved it, I think everyone has a story to tell an everyone deserves a chance to do so. When I worked on this short documentary I felt like a collector of this stories and I loved that filing, simply giving the people a chance to express themselves is indescribable. This scholarship will mean the world to me.
