Getting Ready

Having never really travelled outside the US before, except for Canada and Mexico (OK, I went to Alabama a couple of times) I wasn't really sure how to go about planning a trip for two weeks without going thru a travel agent and doing a big tour deal. Justin and I wanted to do this trip on our own so we could do what ever whenever while still having some sort of plan. So far so good except I realized two weeks before we leave that I really should make sure we have medical insurance coverage. I do and I bought some for Justin, plus NZ. covers you if your bungy cord breaks as long as you paid a licensed tour operator. go figure. We are off on 12/4 starting with a 3.5 hour flight to LA from Chicago and then after a 5 hr wait we fly 13 hours to Auckland. Stay tuned!!
