My Scholarship entry - A 'place' I have visited

My main reason for applying for the competition is the chance to learn from a successful photographer. Travelling to Oman offers a great opportunity to take pictures but in all honesty, those exist all around, all the time. What fails me is my ability to translate those opportunities into tangible and coherent messages, which is the motivation behind my photography and my desire to take the best images for the situation.
I love photography because it represents a moment shared, both with the subject and with the viewer. Exposing people to new perspectives and sharing these moments and messages with people is the goal of my photography and the contribution I want to make.
In the future, I'd like to tie photography with my love of the outdoors and animals. Wildlife and nature photography are probably my main interests. However, working in Libya during the start of the civil war exposed me to the importance of conflict photography.
Why should I win? I want to be a better photographer, I want to learn and produce strong images and I am willing to work hard to do it. Each rejection teaches me something new, but I think I have reached a good starting point for this experience.
