My Scholarship entry - A 'place' I have visited

I have always been into photography and have worked hard at getting into some of the most amazing places I can. I have never had the money for professional level equipment, or a great budget. I tend to alternate travel and work in order to get out there and see what there is as it is vanishing fast - money comes second. In the process I have put myself in great danger, nearly died from dengue twice and malaria once as well as handled some of the deadliest animals on the planet. I don't mind risk for reward! It is my life goal to be involved in documentaries and photojournalism, and winning the scholarship is not something I view as a free holiday but an opportunity to push myself to new levels, meet and work with seasoned pros and realize my dreams. Although I have a lot of images from various places, the theme is location and there is a limit of 5 pictures so I felt the exotic and dangerous West Papua would be the best location to choose images from. Thanks for viewing.<br/>-Nathan Litjens
