Toronto - AGO

The trip of total indulgence. In business in LA, I was able to sneak over to an exhibit of early Italian Renaissance art at the Getty. My time was too brief, and I couldn't return. The only other place this exhibit was to travel to was Toronto. So my friend Karen and I took off for 3 days to visit about 100 pieces of art work, mostly illuminated manuscripts and paintings. Karen is a train buff, so we took a train from Albany to Toronto. For her, trains hold romance of a bygone era; for me, the most romantic thing about our train travel was that Amtrak named this route: the Maple Leaf. Fitting for a train traveling through the northeast, land of fall foliage, into Canada, eh?
