My Scholarship entry - Exploring Life Through a Lens

I believe that I should be chosen for this amazing experience because I am looking for different ways that could help me expand my photography skills and fill the need to explore and travel. I come from a very small town in North Dakota, recently moved to a bigger city where having the change of location I could see a growth in the skills and it has ignited my eye for creativity. I can only imagine what benefits being select to travel to the Amazon could do for my passion of photography and how it would help me grow as a person. I will admit, I may not be as skilled as others apply for the opportunity, I don't have an extreme amount of knowledge of my camera but I feel as if that is all part of how I will grow. To be completely honest, it isn't about traveling somewhere amazing and beautiful. It's about growing. Growing my love for photography, developing a greater view of my surroundings, and discovering myself. It would be an honor to be selected, however, if that is not the case I won't look at it as a failure but more so a trial and error where I can come back and try again until I succeed. I would like to thank you for giving me the opportunity and considering me as an option.
