Andy & Anita's adventures

Malaysia

So here we go on our big adventure!!

We are in Singapore at the moment (in Starbucks of course - gotta love free wi-fi), arriving on the overnight train from KL this morning. It was a good train ride helped much by the fact that we went first class; complete with private bathroom and shower.... yea, not our usual style I know!!

Kuala Lumpur was good. Considering we are used to the...err.. cheaper asian cities it was a nice change. The weather has been kind although the fires burning in Indonesia create a large amount of smog in the air.

The first day in KL we wandered and got our bearings. Next day we went to see the sights and we got an awesome taxi driver who was very helpful and a candid conversationalist! We saw waterfalls, hot springs, palaces and monuments for every religion... it was good.

Yesterday we we went out to Sunway lagoon which is a pretty substantial theme park with the worlds largest pedestrian suspension bridge (Andrew didnt like it much!). We both got a little sunburnt but the water rides were fun.

So now we are in Singapore for a few days, staying in a hotel just off Orchard Rd. We hope to catch up with an old friend from Tas and just let our hair down. We have packed too much (no surprises there) which is a bit annoying because it limits our shopping (Air Aisa to HK has a 15kg baggage limit - ouch!!) so we are going to have to buy all our momentos in HK. ahh, the struggles we face.... haha
