A place called Contentamento

I am Daniele Rodrigues, 23 old, newly graduated in journalism. I Love stories, therefore I decided work with communication. I don’t think I’m so talent to write or photography, but I am very good in the treatment with the people. I believe that the most important in my profession is the respect to the others and I think I have the ability to deal with the diversity of groups and personalities that we find in all media. Sometimes, I don’t know how to perform a task, but always know who can help me accomplish it in the best possible way.
I want to change the world, working with photography in my city’s favelas, for example, building piece by piece. So is too important to me work with socials issues.
I Love to travel and discover the new worlds that exist in each place and people. So is not problem no me live in other countries. I think I am lucky to be Brazilian and live in Salvador in Bahia, but seem wonderful to me know near places and live new experiences. I had the opportunity to live in Seville in Spain, and live in a rural community where I made a documental about the young woman on the countryside of Brazil northeast.

My Scholarship entry - A 'place' I have visited

Hi, my name is Daniele Rodrigues, I’m 21 and a journalism student. Photography to me is a way to stay near to people. I love to know new people, their histories and experiences. I learn a lot on each talk and I fell that a camera is like a magic instrument that makes me touch other worlds. Sometimes people get afraid of me with the camera, but they also have curiosity, so they want to see themselves in the picture, specially the children.
I’m brazilian and already traveled a lot in my country, so I think that being born in a so diverse country was important to make me love the different. I have interest in social themes, not to show poverty, but all the richness that exists in poor communities.
Now I am living for six months in Spain, studying in the University of Seville, and it has been so nice to explore the “old continent". This is an important opportunity to me, so I want to know all I can.
