My Scholarship entry - A 'place' I have visited

Which of my photographs is my favorite? The one I’m going to take tomorrow. - Imogen Cunningham

The abovementioned quote is a popular quote that describes photography perfectly for me, I am a beginner and continuously learning. I also believe that the best photographs are those that are yet to be captured.
I am currently in the final semester of my undergraduate studies. I was born in Thailand from Vietnamese parents but have lived most of my life in the Netherlands and New Zealand.
Two years ago, I managed to save up enough money to purchase a DSLR which I take everywhere I go now. Prior to having an SLR, I have always taken photos with a cellphone or digital camera.
These photos were taken during a trip to a Vietnamese floating village in Cambodia. The village itself had so many stories to tell, particularly from talking to children, their facial expressions expressed a lot which I tried to capture in some of the photos.

As a highly motivated person, I believe that this opportunity will further cement my commitment to photography and provide a perfect opportunity to enhance my learning. To conclude, as cheesy as it may sound, to me, a picture is worth a thousand words.
