Photos: My Scholarship entry - A 'place' I have visited

I want to change the world, not just live in it.
I want to take images, moments in time, that cause people to stop and freeze in the moment they are in and consider a world other than their own. I want to show that there is beauty in every moment; the emotion of the person, how strangers can connect through the lens and the timeless and ever-changing environment. Saturated with images through social media the world is full of people holding cameras… but for what purpose? I used to take photos for enjoyment. It was a passion – a love. Now, I see the power of a camera. How a photo can be more than a nice momentary escape to a place unknown. I take photographs to create change in the world I live. I have been given a gift, I see differently through the frame. I am developing. I am on a journey.
