My Scholarship entry - A 'place' I have visited
India | Monday, January 14, 2013 | flickr photos
My name is Martin, an amateur photographer from one of the most astonishingly picturesque parts of Europe – Slovakia. Buying my first camera became a truly life-changing event for me as I discovered a great passion for photographing, which since then has become my main hobby. Though I started with taking pictures of landscapes and nature(which I was really enjoying during my trips around USA and China, when I arrived to India I revealed the huge interest in humans’ faces, postures, typical activities and so on. I was barely taking pictures of nature while the local peoples’ faces were evoking real interest in me as in an amateur photographer. That’s how I started to trying to catch those particular expressions on people’s faces, how they look at you, how they treat their kids, how they are doing their jobs. It even became a sort of mania, I was barely leaving the house without camera.
You program is not only a great chance for me to improve my photographing skills, but also such a unique opportunity to travel around Oman, to watch a professional photographer at work and to fully dedicate myself to my “mania”. When imagining it, I feel shivers under my skin…
