Hi, well i am a filmmaker and a photographer, always ready for the next adventure, my passion un life is traveling every time i can to capture new places and absorb culture though my lenses. I will like to be choosen, because I think I have enough travel experience, I have athletic health, I am easy to people, I speak the language, and the amazons is a really good opportunity to grow professionally as a person and as a photographer.

As a Mexican I have never documented such cultural day like this, probably the most traditional day in Mexico, for true Mexicans. I will like to make a short film about the dead day because people around the world needs to know that this country is full of folklore and amazing traditions. It will be a tribute to my own country, to the people how respect traditions, and for the adventurous people willing to come and visit Mexico.
Winning this competitions will mean to much for me, for my personal and professional career, I will be glad to emphasis my visual reel with a documentary, that maybe can open me doors to tell and portray more stories of my country.

Hello, my name is Marcelo Quiñones, I was born in Mexico City in 1985. I lived in many different cities because the work of my father. Since my childhood I have adapted to travel, to leave my friends and my family. I studied Science Communication, Filmmaking and Photography but my passion in life is to travel with my camera, National Geographic has been present in my life, is my inspiration and it made my camera an extension of my body, the camera became my companion, we are nomads. I think this experience is once in a lifetime, there would not be greater satisfaction than working with a photographer of magazine that you admire, I am a traveler of birth, I easily adapt to any climate, the people, the food, everything is part of the context that nourishes you in life and your career as a photographer. I am very patience, humble, friendly and of course a professional happy-hard working guy.

Hi my name is Marcelo Quiñones, I was born in Mexico City in 1985. Since I was a child, I always had my eyes glued to a camera. Since then, I've seen life in a more dramatic and cinematic way, always looking for that moment, that moment that we remain in memory. My passion in life is to portray the concerns that surround me, but also travel. Traveling feeds our souls and hearts, takes us out of our bubbles, and introduces us to new environments, travel is to reflect, learn, exchange, is empathy, is life. Oman, has amazing natural landscapes, such as deserts, oasis, cities, mixture of razes, religion, and culture, is a truly photographic place that every photographer will like to portray. I will like you to choose me for this great lifetime opportunity. I have wanted so much to live such an experience like this, I am very hardworking, I am a professional at all times, but the best of me is having empathy, respect and adaptation on every culture. I think that for everyone applying to this scholarship just the fact that national geographic is involved is a great motivation to grow as a professional photographer.

My name is Marcelo Quiñones, I live in Mexico my passion is photography, I follow National Geographic since I have memory, I have been inspired always by nature and people. This pictures where taken while I was walking in a landscape in Chihuahua, Mexico in 2009, I saw a family that was having a break form their jobs, they told me that they where recollecting apples, this Mexican indigenas are very rear to photograph but is more difficult to speak with them, but they where very nice with me while I was portraying them.
